Jacob Jensen Watch
Analogue or digital. Chronograph or simple time-keeper. Whatever your preference, each watch has a quiet beauty rooted in the Jacob Jensen design tradition. Jacob Jensen was among the last great Danish designers belonging to the golden era of the 1950’s known as Danish Modern. He was the first Dane to train as an industrial designer and is considered a pioneer in Danish corporate history. The founder of Jacob Jensen Design is particularly well known for the ground-breaking form language he developed for Bang & Olufsen. The new design profile transformed the company from a Danish quality brand to an international icon.
In 1985, Timothy Jacob Jensen designed two wristwatches in collaboration with the Danish watch manufacturer Max Rene. The watches were made of titanium with a soft silicon treatment on the strap and a lens made of sapphire crystal. The silver and black dial of the watches created an association with the daily cycle of night and day and dark and light and dark. In 1986, the Museum of Modern Art in New York included the watches in its Design Study Collection. They were the first products marketed under the trademark of JACOB JENSEN. The models along with other pieces make up the JACOB JENSEN range of timepieces.
